hai everyone, sapphicscribbles here👋🏽, a 22yo colored, queer, semi-young adult who aims to leave her hometown (📍Singapore) one day. this blog is created to jot down my adventures be it in this little red dot or outside in the world. i used to think that i should work & save a ton of money before i start traveling – well that’s how i was raised up. but ever since i took a leap of faith at 18 & booked an impromptu trip to Yogyakarta during my one-week study break, everything changed. no, you don’d need a copious amount of money to travel as travelling doesn’t have to be that extravagant. well i’m glad i’m the type who would chase for the thrill more than just aesthetic photos for my feed. so that’s exactly what we did. we booked a flight to Yogyakarta that leaves in two days, packed out bags, booked and airbnb and some activities. for the first time, i actually felt more alive in a place that’s two hours away from this bustling city.

after that trip, i decided to do some trips during my study breaks be it solo or with friends but the pandemic happened and all plans crashed. two and a half years of being stagnant, once borders had reopened, i decided to start travelling again, during this time i had also visited my partner in Australia and had travelled to and fro multiple times – im pretty sure i acquired enough miles to upgrade a new seat now! at times when im feeling goofy, i had also booked one-day trips to Jakarta, Thailand and Kuala Lumpur. Most of these unplanned trips leaves in the morning and comes back to Singapore at night. okay…I lied to my parents at times about my whereabouts but i guess my muse lies holding a boarding pass, walking down the aisle and just getting my passport stamped…HEHEHEHE.

i’m turning 23 this year & i’ve no plans in starting a proper career anytime soon, i took a two-year gap year thinking i could figure it by now but all i know is i enjoy making coffee, talking to people and writing about stuff. some facts about me are – im a mixed-race kid thus my features gets a bunch of confusion, i used to run a cafe startup, i do have my name published in a luxury magazine in Singapore and i had worked in over 15 jobs…
